SLD and ELD Electrical Drawings in Bangladesh
An SLD (single line diagram) shows how power flows from the supply through every breaker and panel to the loads, with ratings and cable sizes. An ELD (electrical layout drawing) shows where panels, cable routes, lights and sockets sit on the floor plan. Auditors, utilities and maintenance teams need both to match what is actually installed.

Scope
What’s included.
Everything below is done by our own engineers and installation team, so one company answers for the result.
- Panel-by-panel survey of breakers, cables and busbars
- As-built single line diagram from supply to final circuits
- Electrical layout drawings for every floor
- Load schedule with connected and maximum demand
- Breaker and cable size check against load
- Separate list of unsafe or undersized items
- Panel and circuit labels matched to the drawings
- AutoCAD and PDF files with revision control
What should a good SLD show?
A single line diagram is only useful if someone can trace any circuit on it quickly. It should start at the utility incomer or transformer and show every HT and LT breaker, the MDB, each SDB and the outgoing circuits, with breaker type and rating, cable size, busbar rating and the load each circuit feeds.
It should also mark the earthing arrangement, the power factor improvement panel, generator changeover and any solar or UPS supply, because these change how faults behave. Panel names on the drawing must match the labels on site. When they do not, maintenance staff can isolate the wrong circuit, which is a common route to electrical injury.
Why draw from a site survey instead of old design files?
Original design drawings rarely survive years of expansion. New machines get fed from the nearest SDB, cables are extended, and breakers are swapped for whatever was available. An SLD copied from old files may pass a desk review and then fail a site audit, because the auditor opens the panel and compares.
So we trace every circuit on site, read each breaker's nameplate, check cable sizes and note the loads. Where we find a breaker larger than its cable can carry, a panel with no incomer protection or an overloaded SDB, we list it separately with a recommended fix. You get drawings of the building as it really is, plus a list of what needs correcting.
How do accurate drawings help after the audit?
They make every later job cheaper and safer. Thermographic scans, IR tests and breaker coordination checks all depend on knowing which panel feeds which. Planning a new production line becomes a calculation instead of a guess, because the spare capacity in each panel is visible. Keep the SLD current by updating it after every change and recording the revision on the drawing.
How it’s done
How we deliver it, step by step.
- 01
Collect existing records
We gather old drawings, utility documents and any audit findings before the site visit.
- 02
Trace every panel
Engineers open each panel safely, record breakers, cables and busbars, and photograph nameplates.
- 03
Draft and check
CAD drafting of the SLD and ELDs, followed by a load and breaker-to-cable check.
- 04
Review with your team
Your electrical staff review the drafts and flag anything they know has changed.
- 05
Issue and label
Signed drawings issued, and panels labeled so the names on site match the drawings.
Price guide
What sets the price.
Every site is different, so we price from a survey, not a rate card. These are the factors that move the number, and the written quote shows each one.
- Number of panels, SDBs and outgoing circuits to trace
- Floor area and number of floors needing layout drawings
- Whether any usable drawings or records already exist
- Panels that can only be opened during planned shutdowns
- Extras such as load calculations, labeling or printed sets

Frequently asked questions
Cost depends mainly on how many panels and circuits must be traced on site, not on the drafting. A building with one MDB and a few SDBs is a short job; a multi-shed factory with dozens of panels takes much longer. We quote after a free survey, with the panel count stated so the scope is clear.
RSC electrical inspections and their corrective action plans commonly ask for an updated single line diagram, and many buyer audits do the same. The auditor expects it to match the installed system, including breaker ratings and cable sizes. A drawing that does not match is usually raised as a finding in its own right.
The SLD is a schematic: it shows the electrical connections from supply to loads, with ratings, but not where things are. The ELD is a plan: it shows where panels, cable routes, light fittings and sockets sit in the building. Staff use the SLD to isolate circuits safely and the ELD to find them.
After every change to the installation: a new machine circuit, a replaced breaker, an added panel or a generator change. Many factories also review it once a year alongside the thermographic scan. Each update should carry a revision number and date, so auditors can see the drawing is maintained and not a one-off.
