Inspection, Testing and Commissioning in Bangladesh
Inspection, testing and commissioning proves that fire and electrical systems work as designed, using measured results instead of assumptions. It covers acceptance tests for fire alarms, sprinklers, hydrants and pumps, plus electrical tests such as insulation resistance, earth resistance and thermographic scanning. Each test ends with a signed report that auditors and insurers can review.
We test systems we installed and systems other contractors installed. That matters, because a test is only worth something if the tester has no reason to pass a fault. Our engineers use calibrated instruments, follow the method in the relevant standard, and record actual readings, not ticks. Where a system fails, the report says what failed, why it matters and what fixes it. Tests can be booked once, before handover or an audit, or built into a maintenance contract.

Inspection, Testing & Commissioning
Fire system testing & commissioning
Commissioning is the formal proof that a new or modified fire system works before the building relies on it. Every detector, call point, sounder, valve, pump and interface is tested against its design and the relevant NFPA standard, faults are fixed and retested, and the owner receives signed test records and as-built documents.

Insulation resistance (IR) test
An insulation resistance test applies a DC voltage between conductors, and between conductors and earth, to measure how well the insulation stops current leaking. Low readings warn of damp, damaged or aged insulation before it causes a shock, a short circuit or a fire. It is part of initial verification and useful at every maintenance interval.

Earth resistance test
An earth resistance test measures how easily current flows from an earth electrode into the surrounding soil. It shows whether each earth pit, and the earthing system as a whole, can carry fault and lightning current safely. Tests follow the methods in IEEE 81 and should be repeated regularly, because soil and connections change over time.

Thermographic scan
A thermographic scan uses an infrared camera to find hot spots in live electrical equipment: loose terminations, overloaded cables, failing breakers and unbalanced phases. Because it works under normal load with no shutdown, it is the quickest way to find electrical fire risks across a factory, and auditors increasingly expect to see a recent report.

Which test do you need?
Choose by what you need to prove: that a new system works, or that an existing one is still safe.
| Service | Best for | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Fire system testing & commissioning | Best for: New or modified fire alarm, sprinkler, hydrant, pump or suppression systems | How: Witnessed acceptance tests to NFPA 72, 13, 14, 20 and 2001 |
| Insulation resistance (IR) test | Best for: Cables, motors and panels before energizing, after flooding, or under audit | How: DC test voltage applied between conductors and earth, readings graded and trended |
| Earth resistance test | Best for: Annual earthing records, new earth pits, sub-stations and lightning systems | How: Fall-of-potential or clamp-on measurement to IEEE 81, pit by pit |
| Thermographic scan | Best for: Finding loose connections and overloads in live panels without a shutdown | How: Infrared camera survey under load, with graded hot spots and photos |

Inspection, Testing & Commissioning: questions buyers ask
RSC and buyer electrical audits commonly ask for a thermographic scan of panels under load, insulation resistance results for main cables, earth resistance readings for each earth pit, and an up-to-date single line diagram. Reports should be recent and signed, and show actual readings with the location of each test, so every finding can be traced to equipment.
Fire alarms and water-based systems follow the schedules in NFPA 72 and NFPA 25, which range from frequent visual checks to annual tests. Electrical equipment follows NFPA 70B, where intervals depend on condition and how critical the equipment is. A yearly thermographic scan, IR test and earth test is a common baseline for factories.
Yes. We test regardless of who installed the system, and the report measures it against the standard, not against the installer's paperwork. Where drawings or data sheets are missing, we say so. Many clients use us this way before an audit, or before accepting a new building from a contractor.
It depends on which systems are tested, how many devices, panels or earth pits there are, whether tests must happen outside working hours, and how detailed the report must be. Combining several tests in one visit usually costs less than booking them separately. We quote once we have the list of systems.
