Fire Doors and Emergency Exits in Bangladesh
Fire doors, firestopping and emergency lighting are the passive side of fire safety. They keep fire and smoke inside one compartment and keep escape routes usable and visible while people leave. They do nothing dramatic, which is why they are often neglected, and why auditors in Bangladesh check them so closely.
This line covers what holds a fire back and lights the way out: certified fire-rated door assemblies with panic hardware, firestop seals around every pipe and cable that passes through a fire wall, expansion joint protection, and emergency and exit lighting that stays on when the power fails. We survey, supply, install to the manufacturer's tested details, label and record each item, and hand over the certificates your fire safety plan and auditors need.

Fire Doors & Emergency Exits
Fire-rated doors & panic bars
A fire-rated door is a tested assembly of leaf, frame, hinges, closer, latch and seals that holds back fire for a stated time. A panic bar lets people open an exit door with one push, without keys. Stairs, shafts, compartment walls and factory exits all need them under BNBC 2020 and buyer audits.

Firestop & expansion joints
Firestopping seals the gaps where cables, pipes and ducts pass through fire-rated walls and floors, and where building sections meet at joints. Without it, fire and smoke travel through those holes and bypass the compartment. Any building with fire-rated walls, shafts or protected stairs needs every penetration sealed with a tested system.

Emergency & exit lighting
Emergency lighting switches on automatically when normal power fails, so people can see escape routes, stairs and exits. Exit signs show the way out at all times. Every factory, high-rise and public building needs both, and NFPA 101 expects emergency lighting to run for 90 minutes on battery.

Doors, sealing or lighting?
Most buildings need all three, but audits usually find gaps in one first.
| Service | Best for | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Fire-rated doors & panic bars | Best for: Stairs, shafts, compartment walls and final exits on escape routes | How: Certified door assemblies with closers, seals and panic or fire exit hardware |
| Firestop & expansion joints | Best for: Cable, pipe and duct penetrations and joints in fire-rated walls | How: Tested sealant, collar, wrap and joint systems matched to each opening |
| Emergency & exit lighting | Best for: Every escape route, stair, exit door and open production floor | How: Battery-backed escape lighting and exit signs that switch on during power loss |

Fire Doors & Emergency Exits: questions buyers ask
Passive fire protection is the part of a building that resists fire without needing to switch on: fire-rated walls and floors, fire doors, firestop seals and protected shafts. It divides the building into compartments so a fire stays where it started long enough for people to escape and firefighters to act.
Yes, closely. RSC and buyer auditors check that exit doors open in the direction of escape and are never locked, that fire doors close and latch, that penetrations through fire walls are sealed, and that exit signs and escape lighting work on battery. These are among the most frequent findings.
Rarely. A fire rating belongs to a tested assembly of leaf, frame, hardware and seals, so adding seals or paint to an ordinary door does not make it a fire door. In most cases the door and frame are replaced with a certified assembly sized to the existing opening.
Someone trained to know what a compliant installation looks like, with records kept for each item. NFPA 80 calls for regular inspection of fire door assemblies and NFPA 101 sets emergency lighting tests. Our maintenance contracts can include both, alongside your other fire systems.
