Fire Suppression Systems in Bangladesh
A fire suppression system is a fixed, automatic system that puts out a fire with a gas, foam or wet chemical instead of plain water. It protects rooms where water would cause damage or not work, such as server rooms, switchgear, fuel stores and commercial kitchens. The right agent depends on the hazard and whether people are present.
Sprinklers are the right answer for most of a building, but some rooms need something else. A data center cannot take water, burning fuel spreads on it, and hot cooking oil reacts violently with it. This line covers the four agent families we design and install: clean agent gas, carbon dioxide, foam and wet chemical. We start from the hazard and the people in the room, choose the agent, test the room's integrity where it matters and link the system to your fire alarm.

Fire Suppression Systems
FM-200 & Novec 1230 clean agent
A clean agent system floods a closed room with a gas that puts out fire without water, residue or damage to electronics. FM-200 (HFC-227ea) and Novec 1230 (FK-5-1-12) are the two common agents. Both are safe for occupied rooms at design concentration, which makes them the usual choice for server rooms, control rooms and archives.

CO₂ suppression
A CO₂ suppression system puts out fire by flooding a space with carbon dioxide, lowering oxygen below the level that supports burning. It leaves no residue and does not conduct electricity, so it suits switch rooms, generator enclosures and machinery. Because extinguishing concentrations are lethal, total flooding CO₂ is used only in normally unoccupied spaces.

Foam suppression
A foam suppression system mixes foam concentrate with water and air to cover burning flammable liquid with a blanket. The blanket cuts off oxygen, cools the fuel and stops vapor escaping, which water alone cannot do. It protects fuel tank farms, diesel stores, generator rooms, chemical warehouses and loading bays, and is designed to NFPA 11.

Kitchen hood suppression
A kitchen hood suppression system protects cooking appliances, the hood and the exhaust duct with wet chemical agent. Heat-sensitive links trigger it automatically, it sprays nozzles over each appliance and it shuts off gas or power to the cooking line. Restaurants, hotels and factory canteens with fryers, woks or grills should have one.

| Service | Best for | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| FM-200 & Novec 1230 clean agent | Best for: Server rooms, control rooms, archives and occupied electrical rooms | How: Gas floods the sealed room and leaves no residue on equipment |
| CO₂ suppression | Best for: Unoccupied switch rooms, generator enclosures, cable tunnels and machinery | How: CO₂ displaces oxygen; lockouts and delays protect anyone near the space |
| Foam suppression | Best for: Fuel tanks, diesel stores, chemical stores and loading bays | How: Foam blankets burning liquid, cutting off air and suppressing vapor |
| Kitchen hood suppression | Best for: Commercial kitchens with fryers, woks, grills and canteen ranges | How: Wet chemical sprays appliances, hood and duct, and shuts off fuel |

Fire Suppression Systems: questions buyers ask
A sprinkler system uses water and protects whole buildings. A suppression system uses a special agent, such as clean agent gas, CO₂, foam or wet chemical, and protects one room or hazard where water would cause damage or fail to put the fire out. Many buildings need both.
Cost depends on the agent, the volume or area protected, the number of cylinders, the detection and control panel, room sealing work and whether a room integrity test is needed. Agents and listed hardware are imported, so availability affects price. We size the system from a survey before quoting.
Clean agents such as HFC-227ea and FK-5-1-12 are designed for occupied spaces at the concentrations NFPA 2001 allows. CO₂ is different: at extinguishing concentrations it is lethal, so total flooding CO₂ is used only in normally unoccupied spaces with lockouts and pre-discharge alarms. We choose the agent with this in mind.
Each standard sets its own schedule, but most systems need a regular visual check by the owner and a full inspection by a qualified technician at least once a year. Kitchen systems are serviced every six months. Cylinders are weighed or level-checked, and detection and release circuits are tested.
