RTK GNSS Survey Services in Bangladesh
An RTK GNSS survey uses satellite receivers with real-time corrections from a base station or network to fix positions to centimeter-level accuracy under open sky. It is often the fastest way to set control points, map boundaries and survey large open sites. Accuracy falls near tall buildings and under dense trees, where a total station takes over.

How accurate is RTK GNSS?
In good conditions, RTK positions are centimeter-level horizontally, and vertical accuracy is usually somewhat looser. Good conditions mean a clear view of the sky, a stable correction link and a short distance to the base station. Modern receivers track several satellite systems, including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou, which helps in partly obstructed areas.
Accuracy degrades with signal reflections from nearby walls and metal roofs, tree canopy and distance from the base. A good survey therefore checks itself: we re-observe some points at a different time, measure known control and report the results. A fixed solution shown on the controller is not proof on its own.
Why does the coordinate system matter?
GNSS works natively in WGS84 latitude and longitude, but engineers draw in meters on a flat grid. In Bangladesh that usually means UTM, zone 45N or 46N depending on longitude, or the Bangladesh Transverse Mercator (BTM) grid used by several government agencies. Mixing grids without a proper transformation puts drawings in the wrong place.
Heights need the same care. GNSS measures height above the ellipsoid, which is not the same as height above mean sea level. We tie levels to a benchmark or the datum your designer specifies, such as the PWD datum often used for flood levels, and state the datum on every drawing.
When should you use RTK on a project?
Use it early. A control network surveyed with RTK at the start gives every later survey, drone flight and setting out job the same reference. It suits plot boundaries, open land for a factory extension, utility routes and large earthworks, where walking a rover across the site is far quicker than traversing with a total station.
Where the site is built up or wooded, we use RTK for control in open spots and finish the detail with a total station from those points. That combination keeps the whole drawing in one coordinate system without losing accuracy in difficult corners.
How it’s done
How we deliver it, step by step.
- 01
Define the purpose
We confirm what the survey supports, the accuracy needed, the coordinate system and the deliverables before going to site.
- 02
Set up control
Base station or network corrections are established and tied to known benchmarks or project control.
- 03
Observe points
Rovers record boundaries, features and levels, with repeat observations on selected points for checking.
- 04
Process and check
Data is transformed to the agreed grid and checked against control and repeat measurements.
- 05
Deliver drawings
You receive the CAD drawing, point list and a report stating datum, method and check results.
Price guide
What sets the price.
Every site is different, so we price from a survey, not a rate card. These are the factors that move the number, and the written quote shows each one.
- Site area and how open or obstructed it is
- Number of control points and monuments required
- Detail density: boundaries only or full topography
- Access, travel and number of days on site
- Coordinate transformation and height datum requirements
- Deliverable format: CAD, contours, GIS or report

Frequently asked questions
Cost depends on the site area, how much sky is blocked by buildings and trees, the number of control points, how much detail you need and the deliverables. A boundary check on an open plot is a much smaller job than full topography for a factory site. We quote after reviewing the site and purpose.
Under open sky, yes. RTK gives centimeter-level positions, which is enough for most boundary and plot work. Near walls, tall buildings or trees accuracy drops, so we check doubtful points with a total station. For legal disputes, an official measurement through the land office may still be required.
Classic RTK uses your own base station on a known point, sending corrections to the rover by radio. Network RTK receives corrections from a network of permanent reference stations over mobile data, so no local base is needed where coverage exists. Both give similar results when conditions are good.
Not reliably. GNSS needs a clear view of the sky, so it does not work indoors and becomes unreliable under heavy canopy. We set control with RTK in open areas, then use a total station to measure into buildings and the wooded parts of the site.
Typically a CAD drawing in DWG or DXF, a coded point list in CSV, and a short report stating the coordinate system, height datum, instruments and check results. GIS formats such as shapefile or KML are available if your team or client works in GIS.
