Survey & Drone
Drone Mapping & GIS Services in Bangladesh
Drone mapping flies a camera drone over a site in a planned grid, then processes hundreds of overlapping photos into a measurable map, elevation model and 3D surface. With ground control points measured by RTK, it gives reliable mapping accuracy over large areas in far less field time than walking the site. Flights in Bangladesh need CAAB permission.

Scope
What’s included.
Everything below is done by our own engineers and installation team, so one company answers for the result.
- Flight plan with overlap and ground resolution set
- CAAB permission application with your site details
- Ground control and check points by RTK
- Georeferenced orthomosaic of the whole site
- Surface and terrain models with contours
- Stockpile and earthwork volume calculations
- GIS layers in GeoTIFF, shapefile or KML
- Accuracy report from independent check points
What do you get from a drone survey?
The main product is an orthomosaic: a single, geometrically corrected aerial image on which distances can be measured as on a map. Alongside it come a digital surface model of everything including buildings and trees, a terrain model of the bare ground where it is visible, contours and a point cloud for 3D work.
Those outputs answer practical questions. How much fill will this plot need? How large is the stockpile in the yard? How far has construction advanced since last month? Where does water drain across a planned factory extension? Because the data sits in a real coordinate system, it drops straight into CAD or GIS.
How accurate is drone mapping?
Accuracy is set mainly by the ground sample distance, which is the size of one pixel on the ground, and by ground control. Flying lower gives finer pixels but needs more flight time. Ground control points, measured with RTK GNSS and visible in the photos, tie the model to real coordinates and remove most systematic error.
We also measure independent check points that are not used in processing, and report how far the model differs from them. That figure is the honest measure of a drone survey. Cameras cannot see under dense trees or into water, so those areas may need ground survey to fill in.
What permission is needed to fly a drone in Bangladesh?
Flying a drone in Bangladesh requires permission from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB). Depending on location, sites near airports, cantonments, government buildings or other sensitive areas may need further security clearance. The process takes time, so the flight date in your program should allow for approval.
To apply we need the site location and boundary, the purpose of the survey and preferred dates. Once approved, flights stay within the permitted area and height. We do not fly without permission, which protects you as the client as well as us.
How it’s done
How we deliver it, step by step.
- 01
Plan the flight
Site boundary, required pixel size and overlap set the flight height, flight lines and number of flights.
- 02
Get permission
The CAAB application and any security clearance are filed using the site details you provide.
- 03
Lay ground control
Control and check targets are placed across the site and measured with RTK GNSS.
- 04
Fly and process
The drone flies the planned grid, and photos are processed into orthomosaic, elevation models and point cloud.
- 05
Check and deliver
Results are checked against independent points, then delivered as CAD and GIS files with a report.
Price guide
What sets the price.
Every site is different, so we price from a survey, not a rate card. These are the factors that move the number, and the written quote shows each one.
- Site area and shape, which set flight time
- Required ground resolution and accuracy
- Number of ground control and check points
- Permission and clearance requirements for the location
- Outputs needed: orthomosaic, contours, volumes or 3D
- Repeat flights for progress monitoring

Frequently asked questions
Cost depends on the site area, the ground resolution and accuracy you need, the number of ground control points, the permissions the location requires and the outputs, such as contours, volumes or a 3D model. Repeat flights for progress monitoring change the scope. We quote once we know the boundary and purpose.
Yes, with permission. Drone flights need approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), and some locations need extra security clearance. Flying without approval can create legal trouble for both the operator and the client, so ask any provider to show the approval before the flight.
Yes. The elevation model measures the surface of sand, stone, coal or soil piles, and software calculates the volume against a base surface. Regular flights give a consistent record for stock audits. Accuracy depends on ground control and on defining the base of each pile correctly.
A digital surface model (DSM) records the top of everything the camera sees, including buildings, trees and vehicles. A digital terrain model (DTM) represents the bare ground, with those objects removed where the ground is visible. Designers use the DTM for earthworks and drainage, and the DSM for obstruction and roof studies.
Yes. We deliver the orthomosaic and elevation models as GeoTIFF, vector features as shapefile, GeoPackage or KML, and contours in CAD or GIS formats, all in the coordinate system your team uses. Planners, engineers and asset managers can then work from the same base map.
