Fire Safety Equipment Supply

Firefighter PPE and Rescue Gear in Bangladesh

Firefighter PPE is the protective clothing and breathing equipment that lets a trained fire team work near heat and smoke: turnout suit, helmet, hood, gloves, boots and a self-contained breathing apparatus. Rescue gear adds stretchers, ropes, fire blankets and tools. Factories with an in-house fire team need it certified, fitted and maintained.

What does certified firefighter PPE mean?

Structural firefighting clothing is tested against heat, flame, water and tearing. NFPA 1971, which NFPA has now folded into the combined NFPA 1970, and EN 469 are the two main references, and each certified garment carries a label naming the standard. Helmets, gloves and boots have their own standards: EN 443, EN 659 and EN 15090.

Industrial coveralls and welding jackets are not substitutes. They may resist sparks but are not built for radiant heat or water from a hose, and can trap steam against the skin. If a fire team member is expected to approach a fire, the clothing needs to be certified for that job, not only flame-retardant.

Why is breathing apparatus the critical item?

Smoke kills more people in building fires than flames do. Without breathing apparatus, a fire team cannot safely enter a smoke-filled stairwell or store room to fight a fire or search for people. A self-contained breathing apparatus gives a set air supply from a cylinder on the wearer's back, with a warning whistle when air runs low.

SCBA is only useful if the team trains with it. Each user needs a face mask that fits, practice putting it on quickly, and a routine to check cylinder pressure before every drill. Cylinders also need periodic hydrostatic testing. We set this up with your team when we supply the sets.

How many sets does a fire team need?

It depends on the team structure in your fire safety plan, the number of shifts and the size of the site. Each person who may enter a fire area needs a set that fits them. Spare cylinders and a few spare garments in common sizes keep the team working when one set is being cleaned or repaired.

We also look at where the gear will be kept. It should be stored close to the fire command point, out of sunlight and damp, with each set labeled by name. If a fire team member leaves, their set is checked, cleaned and refitted to the replacement before it goes back into service.

How it’s done

How we deliver it, step by step.

  1. 01

    Team review

We review your fire team roster, shifts and roles in the fire safety plan.

  2. 02

    Specify and size

We choose certified items to suit your hazards, then measure each team member.

  3. 03

    Supply and fit

Sets are delivered, fitted on each person, and SCBA masks are fit-checked.

  4. 04

    Store and label

We set up a storage cabinet near the fire command point, with labeled sets.

  5. 05

    Care training

The team learns inspection, cleaning, donning drills and when to retire gear.

Price guide

What sets the price.

Every site is different, so we price from a survey, not a rate card. These are the factors that move the number, and the written quote shows each one.

Frequently asked questions

Factories must keep trained people and firefighting equipment under the Labour Act 2006 and its rules, and many fire safety plans and buyer programs expect the fire team to be equipped with protective gear and breathing apparatus. The exact requirement depends on your approved plan and team structure.

Both cover protective clothing for structural firefighting. NFPA 1971 is the US standard, now part of the consolidated NFPA 1970, and EN 469 is the European standard. They test similar properties in different ways. Either is acceptable for most fire teams, as long as the whole ensemble is certified to a recognized standard.

Service life depends on use, cleaning and storage, and on the manufacturer's and standard's retirement rules. Gear should be inspected after each use and at regular intervals, and retired when damaged, contaminated or past its permitted life. Store it away from sunlight and clean it after every exposure to smoke.

Cost depends on the certification standard, brand, the items in each set, the number of breathing apparatus sets and spare cylinders, and any rescue equipment and storage. A small team with basic gear and a larger team with full SCBA differ widely, so we quote after a team review.
